Aiden Yeh's 3rd Year Listening/Speaking Course Movie Review: "The Family Man"- a movie about second thoughts and second chances Title Page: Oscar Winning Actor, Nicholas Cage in The Family Man Synopsis: a glimpse at what life could have been Task and thematic-based project Students work in groups. Your group should choose a movie that touches on dreams, hope, fate, and second chances. People make choices all the time, the decisions they make affect the way they think, feel, and live their lives. Some people are able to live the kind of life they desire, while some aren't always so fortunate. Could life have been better if they followed their hearts? Or, could it have been worse? People say that life is short, and that people should live their life to the fullest. But is it always easy to follow our dreams? The path to achieving our goals is sometimes winding and difficult to pass- should we pursue or settle to what we have now? What are the consequences? What are these decisions that people always make? and why? After you have chosen your movie, you have to announce to the class the movie that you will be working on by posting a message at our yahoogroups. This will avoid duplication of topic materials and presentations. Your presentation must contain the following requirements: 2) Short explanation of characters and casts 3) Presentation of scenes or movie trailer 4) Transcripts of chosen scenes or movie trailer. 5) Vocabulary NOTE: If you choose a full-length movie (VCD, DVD), make sure that you will only choose the scenes that are relevant, scenes that clearly show people making choices, the joys and/or agony that people experience before or after making their choices (Please see Theme- above.) Do not show scenes that are irrelevant and completely out of topic. Presentation materials must be saved on a CD to be submitted on the day of presentation. Make sure that your files are saved as .htm or .html files. Thank you. Assessment: Please see Group Presentation Movie Review Rubric (Yahoogroups, Files Area).
