Why didn・t
I join such a meaningful march?
It's not about politics, it's my reflection!

I saw the news about the activity of 228 hand-in-hand rally in
an island-long human chain as a peaceful means of protest against
China's military threat today. The only feeling I had at the moment
is regret. Why didn・t I join such a meaningful march which led
Taiwan people saying out loud to the whole world we are Taiwanese
and Taiwan is the name of this island.
For almost two million people walked to the street, from Kilong
peace-island (the north of Taiwan) to Pindong Changlong(the south of
Taiwan), holding each other・s hand, singing out loud :We love
Taiwan;, :We are the children of Taiwan;, :Taiwan is our
homeland;right at the moment 2:28 Feb, 28th.
The 228 incident has been casting great shadow over many
people・s hearts. Before the march this year, nothing but a sad and
miserable ceremony held to mourn over those who got killed in the
incident every year. And people who got involved with it never step
out a little pace from the pain. But today, we saw people in
different races, even foreigners, holding hands and standing
Taiwan・s ground. Maybe they don・t know each other, but they are
all a part of Taiwan.
Some of them may still remember the tragic 57 years ago,
however, most of them are willing to move on because of this
action. Two million people joined together to say :No; to
the 496 missiles that aim at Taiwan. We love our country, what・s
wrong with that? We want to live on our own land peacefully and
safely, what・s wrong with that? Didn・t the whole world hear our
voice? Isn・t it a historic moment?
No matter what party we are, green or blue, we shouldn・t give
up the chance to love and support Taiwan. Joyful tears filled with
my eyes and my mind kept vibrating after watching the news, for I
realized that there are so many :Children of Taiwan;.
