Craziest Journey by Carol

In the beginning of winter vacation in 2003, Joy and I went back home by motorcycle. We spent 6 hours and rode more than 200 kilometers from Kaohsiung to Taichung. This is one of the craziest things that I have ever done in my lifetime. I never thought that my dream to ride half Taiwan would come true until it was made.

ˇ@ˇ@When I came to school in the first semester, I thought of riding my motorcycle to home. All were my fantasy at that time because I had no partner and I knew that I can not do it alone. I almost wanted to quit and to get released from such a dangerous plan in othersˇ¦ point of view. Few of them thought it as an interesting idea. There was one day that I mentioned this journey to my roommate, Joy, and she promised to go with me. She caught poor me who was drowning. She really touched me when she said so. Finally, we were on the way.

ˇ@ˇ@We started at 8 in the morning from the dormitory, had our breakfast in Tainan, passed through Cha-Yi, visited NYUST (National Yunlin University of Science and Technology), and arrived the sweet home. Our speed all the way was about 80 ~ 90 k/ph. We had a small accident when we were near Taichung. A truck driver didnˇ¦t pay attention and hit us. Fortunately, we both were alive and didnˇ¦t get hurt. Therefore, we got home at 2 pm and made it successfully.

ˇ@ˇ@I admire our courage and persistence. And thank my roommate a lot. Without her, to accomplish it by my own is impossible. This journey is fabulous and unforgettable to us. There is one more thing ˇV thanks for the beautiful weather so that we didnˇ¦t have to worry that much. I have to say this journey is worth to experience despite of costing much energy and time. I can remember the passing scenery, the breeze, and the people who gave us directionˇKetc. Such a great memory follows and reminds us all our lives. My next goal would focus on the whole island and maybe Joy would like to go along with me again.

An Unforgettable Motorcycle Trip by Joy

At my second semester of being a junior student, one day my
roommate Carol told me a crazy idea to go home by motorcycle when the semester comes to the end. I immediately yelled: ˇ§Are you nuts? It's too far from Kaohsiung to Taichung! Itˇ¦s very dangerous to do that.ˇ¨ AndˇKwords like this, because I wanted her to cancel
this crazy idea.

However, finally I was the one riding the motorcycle with Carol from our school NKFUST to our hometown Taichung city. I think that may because we both belong to a type of person who has no sense of danger, no idea about the geographic distance, and no feeling about rationality. So, we became the match partners to do the motorcycle trip. We did it just because we ˇ§Want toˇ¨ and we ˇ§Never doˇ¨.
Besides, after graduating, we may never have this kind of chance to do so; therefore, we have to seize the chance, right? That's the reason how our trip from Kaohsiung to Taichung came. During the trip, all we could see were endless trees, everlasting blue sky, uncountable telephone poles, and the nonstop- like blacktop. We chatted, sang, laughed at first, because we were so excited that we were heading toward our goal. However, gradually
most of the time we kept silent after 2 or 3 hours' riding, because of the little tiredness. We just looked at the fast passed scenery; keep riding and riding without much rest, except the lunch in the Yulin University of Science and Technology. At that time I really had lonely and solitude feelings during the trip, but I enjoyed the loneliness. Although we wondered if we could complete the long trip, eventually we made it! When we saw the
indicator board written Taichung City, we couldn't help yell
ˇ§Bravo, ya, haha, we really did it! Taichung is just at our sight. It's unbelievable! ˇ¨ But quickly we kept silent again, because of the overwhelming tiredness, and because of a small god damn accident, we both were burnt out after 7 hours on the motorcycle.

Now, every time when I think of the motorcycle trip, I still
feel very impressed and touched, because we insisted and achieved our goal. I am happy I joined the trip with Carol; she gave me an unforgettable journey in my life. Thanks Carol! I think, after completing this trip from Kaohsiung to Taichung, there is no long distant can beat me. Maybe next time I can invite Carol to ride through the whole Taiwan. I think every moment during our school life is valuable. Although it may not be so impressed on the instance, it will be very unforgettable while weˇ¦re getting older and older.
