Contains More Than It Looks

Most people keep a diary to preserve their performances in this world as players
on the stage. However, I choose something much different as a medium to record
my life¡Xan address book. Judging from the cover and the layout of it, one will
simply recognize it as an ordinary pamphlet to jot down their friends¡¦
addresses; however, aside from its basic usage, I regard my address book as an
album and a diary.

Turning to the first page, you can see how my appearance and dressing style has
changed by examine the photos I took with my friends and my sister. After
turning to the back, you may notice my collection of handmade bears carved out
of wood and the stuff bears which serve as a token of my relationship with my
best friends.

Later, if you flip through the pages, you may find that this book contains
addresses of people from four continents in the world. Most of them were friends
I met while studying abroad in language institutes. In this way, it indirectly
notes down where I have been to and also reveals my hobbies of traveling around
the world and making new friends.

But what makes this book so special and precious is the message left by these
friends. Some of them wrote down their impression on me, some mentioned about
the happy memories cherished by both of us, and some about their blessings and
encouragements. Their words help me better understand what kind of qualities I
possess, and inspire me to stick to my goal when I want to give up.

This multipurpose book has accompanied me to wherever I go for six years, and it
helps me record my changes, my hobbies and my personalities. More importantly,
it witnesses the shift of my inner self and the unique moments of my life;
therefore, it certainly contains more than it looks.
